Steve UMA joined NSIA Insurance in October 2019 as Head of Information Services & Technology. Prior to that, he served as Head of IT at the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), where he led strategic IT planning and infrastructure development.

Steve has over 17 years of experience spanning banking, telecom, and the public sector. He began his career at Guaranty Trust Bank Plc as an executive trainee and rose to Senior Banking Officer within the IT Service Management Group. He later joined Huawei Technologies as Senior IT Operations Manager for West Africa.

Steve is a pioneer graduate of Computer Engineering from Babcock University, holds an Executive Master’s Certificate in Project Management from the Project Management College, UK, and a Master’s in Software Engineering from the University of Liverpool.

He is a recipient of the World CIO 200 Award, a member of the Forbes Technology Council, and serves on the Technical Advisory Board of the Global Skill Development Council, USA. Steve is a member of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) and holds certifications such as MCITP, MCP, ITIL, COBIT 5 Implementation.

Outside of work, he enjoys playing musical instruments, chess, and football.
